If youth is wasted on the young, then old age is wasted on those who don't take advantage of its privileges. We don't need to have any but self-imposed deadlines to meet, we can pick and choose how we spend our time and if we choose books and movies over bingo games who's going to mind?
No one really expects us to keep up with the new technologies, but some are worth it because they please and entertain us.
It likely won't last longer than the winter rainy season, but I'm spending a lot of time with my new Christmas toy, the large screen Acer computer monitor (20 by 10 inches)from my techie son. It lets me loll nearby in comfort with a mug of cocoa and watch the super Netflix subscriber service of movies on my computer. And of course it's great for viewing news videos. So many TV programs invited me to take a look at their website that I finally realized I didn't need TV cable service. (Unintended consequence? An example of no good deed going unpunished?)
Warning: This is the slow lane. Please don't expect reviews of the newest releases.
